Rose City Trail Report:
DATE: Thursday Jan. 28, 2010
BASE: 0
PAST 24 Hrs: Dusting
CONDITION: Very poor to non-existing
I wish I could give you better news.
The 3-4 inches we were to receive; didn't happen! We received another dusting this morning, but now the sun is shining without a cloud in the sky. Just cold with the wind blowing
|
CONDITION: Ice with little snow
We received dusting of snow Thursday & Friday, with the wind blowing it's very cold.
|
We need snow! Trails are very snirty with bare corners.
|
Icy but still snow covered. Probably very icy after this rain and freeze.
|
Trails are still fair, but getting snirty. With the drizzile/freezing rain that we are to receive tonight things could get bad? If we don't get a flood of rain; with the wind blowing; it may not be as bad as it sounds with the higher temps. The next 24 hours will tell the story.
Temps are to reach mid-30's through Sunday before warming even more next week.
|
There is a good base with a fair track in place right now. WEATHER FOR UP COMING WEEKEND::Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 23. West wind between 5 and 10 mph.

AS OF MONDAY JAN 4, 2010 Groomers were out today. Groomers still report trails to be in surprisingly good condition even without any additional snow. There are a few snirty corners, but overall good.
Weather forecasts have not been correct on snow predictions lately, but here goes. Snow showers Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with no predicted amounts?
When riding and approaching a groomer on the trail, please wait for the groomer to completly stop. Once stopped please slowly pass the groomer. Groomer will not get off the trail. They will try to stop somewhere with enough clearance for you to pass by. The groomers are out there 10-12 hours to make your riding experience enjoyable. If you come upon a freshly groomed trail please stay off the groomed portion as much as possible. This gives the snow time to set up after smoothed out and packed down by the groomer.
|
The trails are in good condition, with the snow fall, the trails will be groomed sometime this weekend.
